Today, Wednesday (April 28, 2021), Baghdad Operations Command announced the arrest of a number of persons accused of terrorism, forgery and drug trafficking in different areas of the capital, after inspections conducted by the security forces.
In a statement received (Baghdad Today), the leadership stated that “the Sixth Infantry Division carried out pre-emptive operations to secure the protection of the sector of responsibility, in addition to conducting search and inspection operations in the areas north and west of Baghdad within the division’s responsibility district, and managed to arrest a number of suspects according to different legal articles among them.” One accused according to Article 4/1 of terrorism, and another accused of forgery.
The statement added, “The 11th Infantry Division continues to provide protection for polling stations, and to carry out search and inspection duties within the district of responsibility, resulting in: the arrest of a number of defendants according to various legal articles, including one accused of promoting narcotics.”
The statement pointed out that “a force from the Seventeenth Infantry Division, based on intelligence information, was able to arrest two suspects in accordance with Article 4/1 of terrorism, in the Radwaniyah area, south of Baghdad.”
He pointed out that “the first federal police division was able to arrest a number of people wanted by the judiciary according to various legal articles, including one accused according to Article 4/1 terrorism, and one accused of promoting narcotic substances, within the division of the division’s responsibility.”
